  Printer-friendly page Print this story

Swanpool News Swanpool Beach Nature Reserve will be holding a family fun day on Saturday 5th July. With activities set to kick off from 11am, the lake will become a hive of activity with something for all the family...

Children can get stuck in with workshops tackling Dragonfly making and pond dipping. The artistic amongst them can paint “what they see” on a community mural, which will be hung from the log cabin on the car park. With guided walks around the nature reserve identifying the birds and trees, the budding Attenboroughs amongst them will be as happy as ducks in the rain.

There will be Falmouth Green Centre on site with their plant sales, Cornwall Waste Action will be presenting a composting promotion and the Cornwall County Council recycling unit will be on site.

Swamp Circus will entertain and a spectacular “Bird of Prey” display will take place. Adults can view a fascinating display of photographs mapping Swanpool’s history. Falmouth Model Boat Club will be sailing their superb looking fleet of boats.

The Swanpool Nature Reserve awareness/ fun day is organised by the Swanpool Forum which includes representatives from Swanpool Beach, Natural England, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Cornwall Waste Action, Carrick District Council, Falmouth Model Boat Club and the Local Residents Association.
